The Renegade Queen has been awarded the 2016 IPPY Gold Medal for Adult Fiction. The award will be presented on May 10th at the Willis Tower in Chicago (Sears Tower) on the eve of BookExpo in America. I’ll be sure to post pictures of the award. I am honored to win the award and I hope this will bring greater recognition to Victoria Woodhull and Susan B. Anthony, the suffragists who sacrificed everything so that the worth of women would be recognized.
And I want to thank the readers and their fans for their support. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t receive an email, text, or tweet about how The Renegade Queen touched them in some way. Your encouragement sustains me during the early morning hours when I drag myself out of my warm bed to research Victoria’s life in England for the sequel.
About the IPPYs
Each year since 1996, the Independent Publisher Book Awards competition has identified a reading list of progressive, thought-provoking books, the kind that can touch lives, advance careers, and stretch our imaginations. With the tag line, “Recognizing Excellence in Independent Publishing,” the IPPY Awards showcase the best books from throughout North America and the English-speaking world. Launched as the first unaffiliated awards program open exclusively to independent, university, and self-published titles, the awards are presented each spring at a gala ceremony during the BookExpo America convention in New York or Chicago. Winners receive gold, silver and bronze medals and foil seals for their book covers.
