Oh Dear: A History of Woman Suffrage in Ohio won director Linda Thornburg an Individual Artist Fellowship in Filmmaking from the Ohio Arts Council, a Chris Bronze Plaque, and was an American Film Festival Finalist.

Ms. Thornburg also was the writer-director for the award-winning feature film Mrs. Stevens Hears the Mermaids Singing, adapted from the iconic lesbian novel by May Sarton. She is also an award-winning playwright for the play, Leap of Faith, about two women who “eat, dance, work…swim in a bed.” She recently created a children’s picture book, The Cat Doesn’t Travel the Usual Path. Ms. Thornburg is currently working on a children’s animated musical with singer-songwriter Katherine Archer.
